The subscription is not the whole price: ten of the 11 also sell a currency for images, video or voice, and that is where the real differences are.

The cheaper yearly plans in the table each miss something: Candy AI ($47.88) does not publish what an image or video costs, Nectar AI puts video on its Ultimate tier ($179.99 a year), SpicyChat has no video we could find, DreamGF does not publish a video price, Character.AI does not allow adult content, and Nomi does not allow adult photos.

Most apps make you subscribe before you can buy more currency: OurDream, Nomi, Xotic AI, Secrets AI, DreamGF and Nectar AI all say so. ## Subscription is not the whole price: how currencies work

Text replies are cheap for an app to produce, so nearly every paid plan makes them unlimited. An image costs the app far more, and a video more again. The apps here handle that in three ways.

## Things to watch for

- **Introductory prices.** Candy AI's first month is $9.99, then $13.99. DreamGF's first month is $12.99, then $25.99, and its first year $69.99, then $311.88.
- **Price changes.** SpicyChat raised all three tiers on 8 September 2026. Secrets AI is moving legacy members to its $19.99 Premium plan.
- **Lapsed plans.** OurDream's help centre says images and videos blur until you re-subscribe. On SecretCrush AI your images stay.
- **Refunds.** Candy AI allows a request within 24 hours if no more than 20 tokens were used. Nomi says payments are non-refundable.
- **Trials.** Kindroid's three-day free trial needs a payment method and converts to a paid plan. SecretCrush AI's free tier needs no card at all.
- **Character.AI's status.** It filed for Chapter 11 on 12 October 2026 to sell the business. It says subscriptions stay active, and that the platform will be wound down if no bid keeps it running.
