The short answer
These three are companion apps: one ongoing relationship with a character you shape.
- Nomi: 50 free messages a day; paid plans add selfies, short video, voice and group chats. No explicit images.
- Kindroid: voice and live avatar video calls, adult roleplay allowed; since 1 October 2026 only a one-time free preview.
- Replika: one companion, free chat with no stated cap; prices only in the app.
If you want a companion who sends pictures, SecretCrush AI beats all three.
Why SecretCrush AI beats all three
- Immersive, realistic roleplay. Your companion stays in character and in the scene, and in-chat images follow the story.
- Adult images, not just adult text. All adult content is unlocked for 18+ on Premium; Nomi says its companions may not send explicit photos.
- Fast pictures: high-quality images in about 10 to 15 seconds and video clips in about 40 seconds. On other apps an image typically takes 30 to 60 seconds and a video 1 to 2 minutes or more.
- Unlimited messages with advanced memory on Premium, with 500 bonus coins every month (600 on the yearly plan), from $8.99 a month on the yearly plan.
- Free every day: 10 messages a day that renew every day, where Kindroid now gives a one-time preview. Coin packs from $10 are open to free accounts.
- Design your own companion with the free character builder.

- SecretCrush AI: 10 messages a day, every day, plus 20 welcome coins for three images.
Memory
Each of the three makes its own claim, and none publishes a test: Nomi's App Store page says "human-level long term memory", Kindroid calls its system "Cascaded Memory", and Replika's Ultra plan adds saving messages to memory. SecretCrush AI Premium gives unlimited messages with advanced memory.

- Nomi: selfies at 1 credit, video of 5 to 15 seconds at 6 or 10 credits, voice messages and calls on the paid plan.

- Replika: selfies and voice on Pro, up to 10 selfie videos on Platinum, voice calls in the app.
Content rules
- Nomi: text is "unfiltered and uncensored", but no explicit photos.
- Kindroid: adult roleplay allowed; red lines on self-harm, harm to others and child abuse material.
- Replika: 18+ only; romantic status on Pro; no current policy on explicit content stated.
